The Police Authority has 19 Members who represent every area of South Wales. They act as the bridge between the force and the public.
 
Membership of the Authority is made up of:
 
They each work together to represent their local areas, and South Wales as a whole.
 
Even though some Members are politicians, the Authority is apolitical. Councillors from all parties work together with Independent Members to make sure South Wales Police is efficient and effective.
 

Allowances
