Community Engagement Strategy

Community Engagement Strategy

Engaging with the communities of South Wales is an essential element of the role of the Police Authority.

Community engagement is regularly misinterpreted as relating solely to consultation, and asking for public opinion. In fact, it goes much further and relates to having an open dialogue with the community.

Community engagement relates in some way to all elements of the work undertaken, whether it is asking opinions from the public on priorities, replying to correspondence received, or answering the telephone.

In South Wales, we see community engagement as being made up of four strands – Communications, Consultation and Feedback.
