The awards highlight the professional approach we put into our work, and the recognition, either from our own peers or national organisations, is always appreciated.
Investors in People
In September 2006, South Wales became the first Police Authority in Wales and England to achieve the Investors in People accreditation.
In April 2009, we were successfully reaccredited with the Investors in People.
Association of Police Authorities (APA)
South Wales Police Authority was shortlisted for the Innovation and Value for Money awards at the 2010 APA Excellence Awards.
The four Police Authorities and Forces in Wales were named the winners of the APA Excellence Award for Collaboration in 2008.
Two Ticks
South Wales Police Authority has been awarded the two ticks disability symbol for demonstrating a positive commitment to disabled people.
The accreditation is related to the employment processes adopted by the Authority.

Rainbow Mark
South Wales Police Authority has become the first Police Authority in Wales to achieve the Rainbow Mark from the LGBT Excellence Centre – highlighting commitment towards the needs and issues of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in Wales.
By achieving the standard, the Police Authority has demonstrated good practice in working with, and having regard for, the specific needs, issues and barriers facing lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in Wales.
