Collaboration

South Wales Police Authority works with our three colleague Authorities in Wales to work on behalf of the whole of Wales on some policing issues.
“The police service of Wales will work with our communities and partners to create a better, safer Wales, treating everyone with courtesy and respect.”
We do this through the Police Authorities of Wales, which is a representative body made up of the four Welsh Police Authorities – Dyfed Powys, Gwent, North Wales and South Wales.

Police Authorities of Wales (PAW)

The Police Authorities of Wales (PAW) was first established in 1996 as a way for Authority Members to meet and discuss issues that affect the whole of Wales. In 2007, this was developed into a constitutional body with delegated powers of responsibility.
